Steve Bruce spoke to club TV following our goalless draw at Birmingham City.
His full views are below in full.
On the tense, physical nature of the derby...
We knew it would be like that.
I thought we were better when big Mile Jedinak entered the fray.
I saw Blues a couple of weeks ago against Cardiff and knew what to expect.
It was always going to be the case in a derby game and when you come here as Aston Villa manager you know how tough it will be.
We could have nicked it in the end, we had a few big chances.
But the supporters have gone home happy because they've seen their team show some resilience.
On the near misses in the closing stages of the match...
A couple of them have hit the bar at the end there.
We could have nicked it.
But I was very pleased we got something out of the game.
It was important we did so.
On a good point earned overall...
You're always a little disappointed when you don't take all three.
But the momentum stays with us.
We've got another big game on Wednesday against Preston, who have a 24-hour recovery on us.
That's what we're up against.
On Mile Jedinak's return to action...
He was excellent.
He negated their physical threat.
It was important that he did that because we had a few problems with their physicality.
I thought he was excellent when he came on – he did very, very well.
On completing the first of three games in seven days...
It's what the Championship is.
We've put ourselves in a decent position.
The winter's upon us and the yellow balls are now here.
It's all to play for.
On the Preston match on Wednesday night...
They're big, physical.
We know what to expect.
They've had a good start to the season.
It's never easy Preston away and it won't be easy on Wednesday night.
