Analysis

Villa took a solid point at St Andrew's after a goalless Second City derby.

An engaging encounter saw us come close to stealing all three points on several occasions in the second half.

Jonathan Kodjia's goal-bound header was saved well by Tomasz Kuszczak, and John Terry's flicked on header from a set-piece also nearly found the net.

But the two moments that had more than 2,700 travelling Villans on the edge of their seats came through Keinan Davis and Kodjia again, who both struck the crossbar in the closing stages.

A big plus was the return of Mile Jedinak, who came off the bench for a 30-minute cameo and impressed manager Steve Bruce.

The point keeps Villa in the Sky Bet Championship play-off positions ahead of Wednesday's trip to Preston North End.
