Scoring summary

Jota 55, Bonatini 72

Villa's nine-game unbeaten run came to an end after a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Wolves.

Second-half goals from Diogo Jota and Leo Bonatini inflicted a first loss on Steve Bruce's men in the Championship since August.

Robert Snodgrass came closest to scoring in the final 10 minutes when his free-kick hit the crossbar, but it was a frustrating day all round for the team.

Villa had defended resolutely up until the hosts' opening goal, with Alan Hutton – filling in at left-back – making some crucial challenges to keep us in the match.

Ultimately, it wasn't to be, and Bruce will look to get his side back on track in a weeks' time against Fulham in B6.
