On the Bish podcast: Heskey the guest star

Today sees the return of the new Aston Villa podcast ‘On the Bish’ as we discuss claret and blue talking points right from the heart of B6.

Hosted by our social media executive James Jeavons, we’re joined this week by former Villa, Liverpool, Leicester and England striker Emile Heskey and our long-time matchday programme editor Rob Bishop.

In his prime, Heskey was one of the most powerful and feared forwards in Europe, winning the League Cup four times, the FA Cup once, the UEFA Cup once and the Super Cup once.

Heskey scored on his debut for the claret and blues – in a 1-0 win at Portsmouth and went on to bag 15 goals for us in 111 appearances.

Bishop is a much-respected journalist who has covered the club in different guises over almost 30 years, including publications such as the Sports Argus, Birmingham Mail and Express & Star.

Emile and Rob tell us what they’re up to now before discussing Villa matters past and present.

Subjects include:

  • Steve Bruce
  • Keinan Davis
  • Wolves next up
  • Martin O’Neill era
  • Growing confidence
  • UEFA Cup nights
  • England
  • The World Cup
  • Germany 1-5 England

Be sure to follow ‘On the Bish’ on Audioboom so you get the next episode before anyone else.
