Mile Jedinak could make his long-awaited return to first team action this weekend against Norwich.
Steve Bruce revealed at his pre-match press conference this morning that Jedinak had trained all week at Bodymoor Heath.
Jedinak has been out of action since the derby win over Birmingham City in April 2017.
His return would be huge boost to the claret and blues.
Bruce also revealed that Ahmed Elmohamady should return against the Canaries after missing the Reading game while Scott Hogan – who went off against the Royals – comes back into contention for Saturday.
He said: “With Scott, it’s not as bad as it was previously. He had an injection into his ankle on Wednesday morning. That seems to have settled it down a bit.
“That’s two or three times now where he’s jarred it. We will see how he is this morning. I haven’t ruled him out totally for Saturday.
“Elmo wants to play. That’s typical Elmo – and why I bought him. He had 33 stitches in his lip on Saturday. There’s not many people would put themselves up like Elmo. He wants to be involved.
“Mile has trained all week. He wants to be involved too. They’ll be good additions to us straight away.”
