Aston Villa Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of Ahmed Elmohamady on a three-year deal.
Elmohamady joins us from Hull City, having worked with boss Steve Bruce previously at the KCOM Stadium and also at the Stadium of Light with Sunderland.
Elmohamady becomes our third signing this summer following the arrivals of John Terry and Sam Johnstone.
Aston Villa is a great club and I am thrilled to join – it’s one of the very biggest clubs in England
The 29-year-old will now link up with the squad in Germany ahead of the Cup of Traditions tournament and his first game on home soil could be the Graham Taylor OBE tribute match next Saturday before a potential competitive Championship opener against his former club.
Elmohamady said: “I am delighted to be here at Aston Villa.
“Aston Villa is a great club and I am thrilled to join – it’s one of the very biggest clubs in England and its history and tradition is there for all to see.
“It’s a great time to join too as we look for promotion to the Premier League.
“I will give absolutely everything to help us achieve that goal.
"I know, first hand, what it takes to win promotion and I want that feeling again.”
