Steve Bruce will face his former club on the opening day as we take on Hull City at Villa Park.

Bruce managed the Tigers for four years between 2012 and 2016.

In fact, Bruce was the opposition dugout the last time we faced them as goals from Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andi Weimann earned a 2-1 August 2014 victory for the claret and blues.

This time, he will be in the home area as he faces off against their new boss Leonid Slutsky on Saturday August 5.

The Russian will make his English football debut in the dugout at Villa Park after joining this summer following Marco Silva’s departure.

The game has been selected for Sky Sports coverage and will kick-off at 5.30pm.

Our first game away from home in the Championship sees a trip to Cardiff City’s on Saturday August 12.

In other highlights, we face Birmingham City away on Saturday October 28 and at home on Saturday February 10.

We take on Wolves away on Saturday October 14 and at home on Saturday March 10.

Our festive calendar sees us away at Brentford on Boxing Day and take on Bristol City at home on New Year’s Day.

We conclude with a trip to newly-promoted Millwall on Sunday May 6.

Please also be aware that our Carabao Cup match at Colchester United will be televised on Wednesday August 9 with a 7.45pm kick-off.
