Jonathan Kodjia has spoken of his delight at a positive personal season – and spoke of his delight at being a Villan.
Kodjia bagged 19 goals in the last campaign before sustaining a knee injury, which he is currently battling back from over the summer period.
Kodjia has been rehabbing over the past few months and is making good progress as he looks to return as soon as possible.
All of us Villans want a good season next time. I think it could be a special season. I certainly hope so.
He said: “I have been happy with my form for Aston Villa.
“I would have obviously wanted the 20-goal milestone but I still feel it was a good season for me.
“I feel I contributed to the good of the team – that’s all that matters in team sport, that you give something to the collective.
“Every goal gives you good emotions, good feelings.
“I look forward to getting over my injury and being involved again as soon as possible. All of us Villans want a good season next time. I think it could be a special season. I certainly hope so.
“This is a very nice football club – it has good history, good facilities, good spirit.
“I enjoy coming in every day. It’s a very easy relationship with the players, with the gaffer, with the coaches – I enjoy it here. It is a big club too.”
