Steve Bruce worked his players as they prepared for their clash with top-of-the-table clash Newcastle United.
We face the Tyneside outfit on Monday, with an 8pm kick-off.
Bruce spoke in his weekly press conference about the importance of leading with confidence – and not letting the bad times bring you down.
And the boss was out on the training fields exuding assurance, belief and conviction – all watchwords in the Bruce managerial manual.
He told the media: “If they see you wilt, they will follow.
“When you’re up against it, the only thing you can do is stick your chest out a bit and get on with it.
“When you’ve been in football for 20 years as a manager, there are times when it’s tough – and there’s no disputing it’s tough right now. But you roll your sleeves up and get on with.”
Bruce is hopeful of having Mile Jedinak and Neil Taylor available for the trip to St James’s Park.
However, James Bree and Gabriel Agbonlahor are both looking extremely doubtful.
