Steve Bruce admits he can’t wait to see Mile Jedinak back in the claret and blue shirt.
Bruce sang the praises of his anchor man midfielder ahead of the Newcastle game on Monday.
The manager is hopeful of seeing the central star back in the fold for the trip to Tyneside.
And Bruce says it will be a big boost to him and the team.
He said: “We have missed Mile. We have missed his presence and his leadership skills.
“Hopefully he might be available for Monday. If he is, it will be a welcome to everybody because certainly defensively we have missed his physical presence.
“The one thing about Mile is he’s a big powerful man and a leader too. We want him back and I think he can make a difference to us.
“When I walked through the door Mile played very well and was a big, important part of the team. We hope we can get him back on the pitch.”
