FA Youth Cup preview: Blackburn v Villa

Our youngsters are in FA Youth Cup fourth round action this evening – against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

It is a re-match of last season’s fifth round clash - Tre Pemberton's 90th-minute winner for Rovers the decider after Villa had taken a first half lead and Lewis Hardcastle levelled in B6.

The claret and blues saw off Bristol City in the last stage – goals from Jordan Cox and Jack Clarke [pictured above] sealing progression at Ashton Gate.

Meanwhile, Rovers beat Arsenal 1-0 at Borehamwood.

In previous years, Villa have fared well in the prestigious competition - reaching the final in 2010 and the semi-final in 2011.

Last season, the young guns recorded some memorable results against Everton and Crystal Palace before narrowly losing out to tonight’s opponents at Villa Park in the fifth round.

Admission prices are £4 [adults] and £2 [concessions - O65s/U17s].

The winners of tonight’s tie will host either Broxbourne Borough or Yeovil Town in round five – they also play this evening.
