Aston Villa Football Club is pleased to announce that Gary Gardner has penned a new contract with the club until 2020.
The midfielder came through the ranks at Bodymoor Heath and made his debut in Villa’s 3-1 win at Chelsea in 2011.
After recovering from two major knee injuries, successful loan spells at Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest in the Championship followed.
He saw his early 2015/16 hindered by an injury sustained in pre-season and he spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Nottingham Forest.
The midfielder has made 14 appearances in the 2016/17 campaign to date and scored his first senior Villa goal in the 1-1 second city derby draw against Birmingham City at St Andrew's in October.
