Luton boss Nathan Jones insists he’s fully focused on what his own team do as they get set to face us tomorrow night in the EFL Cup.
We travel to Kenilworth Road for a 7.45pm kick-off on Wednesday.
Hatters manager Jones is an admirer of the claret and blues – and boss Roberto Di Matteo – but says he gains nothing by concentrating on our strengths.
He said: “Roberto has done fantastically well.
“I came up against him when he was at MK Dons and he’s gone on to do really good things.
“But, the key for me, is that as long as my team turn up and put in a Luton Town performance, I don’t care who we play.
“What side they pick doesn’t concern me. What Aston Villa do is nothing to do with me. I’m sure they’ll want to come here and win the game and so do we.
“We’ll play a side that we feel can get us a result. We won’t be resting anyone or anything like that. We’ll pick a side that we feel can compete against Aston Villa.
“I watched them at Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend and it was a tough start for them, because Sheffield Wednesday are a very good side.
“This is a different kind of game. We’ll prepare for it the exact same way. It’s not points to play for but it’s a cup game against a very good side and we’re looking forward to it.
“It’s a good draw, a good draw for the club. The Sky cameras are there too and that always adds a little bit of an edge, so it’s a nice distraction.”
