Birmingham Mail: Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke is all set for a move with Liverpool this afternoon on the verge of triggering his £32.5m release clause - and national bookmakers are closing the betting on where he's headed. A whole host of outlets, including Sky Bet, William Hill, Ladbrokes and Bet365 have stopped taking money on the Belgian's new club.

Sky Sports: Christian Benteke is edging closer to a move to Liverpool with the Reds set to meet the £32.5million release fee in the Belgian's contract with Aston Villa, Sky sources understand. Liverpool have been pursuing a deal for the 24-year-old for much of the summer as they look to add some firepower to a side which scored 52 league goals last season.

The 24-year-old scored 12 goals in 12 games at the end of 2014-15 season to help keep Villa in the Premier League. The 30-year-old, who made 37 appearances for West Ham in the Premier League last season, returned north for a medical with the Championship side after being left out of the Hammers' Europa League squad to face Birkirkara.
