Juan Serrano

Juan Serrano

Juan Serrano featured prominently in Villa's U18 team during the 2011-12 campaign.

The Spanish midfield player, whose full name is Juan Jose Serrano De La Cruz Vidal, opened his account for the season in October when Tony McAndrew's team drew 2-2 with Leicester City.

Although he didn't feature for the reserves in their title-winning campaign, Juan Serrano made one NextGen Series appearance in Villa's 2-0 defeat to Ajax in Amsterdam back in August 2011.

The Spanish sensation arrived at Villa's academy from Espanyol in January 2011.

It took a few months before he was ready to be unleashed on the English game - but he made quite an introduction.

In March 2011, Juan Serrano scored on his debut for the reserves in a 2-1 defeat against Everton at Hinckley.

He showed his quality with an intelligent turn and finish to cancel out the away team's early opener.

A few days later the boy from Catalonia was celebrating his first professional contract that will keep him at Villa until June 2013.
