Andras Stieber

Andras Stieber

Andras Stieber put his injury frustrations behind him to become a regular fixture in Villa's U21 side during 2012-13.

The Hungarian midfielder played 20 times for Gordon Cowans' team in the Barclays U21 Premier League.

He also managed one goal in the 3-2 win over Stoke City in October.

It was a big boost for Stieber who saw most of his 2011-12 campaign written off with a second long-term injury.

He had already fought back from a cruciate problem to figure for the reserves and youth sides in the second half of 2010-11.

Stieber made several impressive appearances for the second string - including a fine display in the 10-1 win over Arsenal at Hinckley.

Unfortunately his season ended early again when he sustained another injury in a defeat against Wolves reserves at Compton.

The talented midfielder was on the periphery of Villa's run to the FA Youth Cup final in 2009-10, mainly appearing as a substitute.

But he impressed when called upon at youth level and managed to get himself on the scoresheet on several occasions in the Premier Academy League.

Andras is the younger brother of former Villa reserve team star Zoltan Stieber, who now plays for German second division outfit Greuther Furth.
