WHAT HE SAID
When the fans clap - particularly when you play for the fans - it gives you a rush and goosebumps.
You're there for the fans. You want to do your best and produce your best and hopefully I can do that.
WHAT OTHERS SAID
Karim El Ahmadi: He's a great player to play with and he never gives up - I don't think I ever see him standing still on the pitch.
Wilfred Bouma: Brett Holman is someone I have played against a lot of times. He is a quality player. He was looking forward for a long time to playing in the Premier League and now he has got his chance.
Matt Lowton: He's superb on the ball, his touch is fantastic and the positions he takes up on the pitch, in between the opposition midfield and defence is tremendous.
Gabby Agbonlahor: He didn't speak for two weeks. He didn't seem to say a word. But it's all turned around now. He's involved in the dressing room with all the banter!
Paul Lambert: Sometimes the way he plays I wonder if Brett needs another lung.
Brett Holman joined Villa in July 2012 from AZ Alkmaar.
The 27-year-old wide midfield player has been capped 53 times for Australia having made his international debut in 2006.
He began his career in Australia before moving to Holland and joining Feyenoord in 2002.
A loan spell at SBV Excelsior preceded a move to NEC Nijmegen in 2006 before he joined AZ Alkmaar in 2008 at the beginning of their championship-winning season.
Holman's form both domestically and in Europe has made him a coveted property.
In 2011 he won the Australian Football Media Association's Player of the Year and his appearances for Australia over the past two years have comfortably exceeded the requisite 75 per cent of games in order for him to be eligible for a work permit.
His high-tempo, energetic style has made him an integral part of the Socceroos team and he was the only player to feature in every one of their FIFA World Cup qualifiers for the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
He also scored two goals in their three games at the finals.
Brett Holman won three Australia player of the year awards for 2011.
