Sky Sports: Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given has praised the impact Roy Keane has had on the club since being appointed assistant manager. Keane, who has previously managed Sunderland and Ipswich, became Paul Lambert's deputy this summer though he will continue part-time in his role as Martin O'Neill's right hand man with the Republic of Ireland.

Sky Sports: Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given says he is prepared to fight for his place in the first team next season.

Sentata Sports: Paul Lambert is set to hold talks with Ron Vlaar to establish whether the Aston Villa captain has a long-term future at Villa Park. The 28-year-old has one year left on his contract and has been the subject of much transfer speculation since helping the Netherlands to the World Cup semi-finals last month. Vlaar has recently returned to training with his club after being given an extended break after Brazil 2014 and Lambert says the defender is focused on Villa's Premier League opener against Stoke.

ITV Football: Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is planning on holding talks with captain Ron Vlaar in a bid to resolve the defender's future. With one year remaining on the Dutchman's contract, and following his stand-out performances for Holland in the World Cup, Vlaar has since been linked with a number of clubs, notably Serie A pair Juventus and Lazio. After an extended break for the 29-year-old in light of his World Cup exertions, Vlaar returned to the Villa fold on Saturday, although as a spectator only for the club's 4-1 pre-season friendly defeat at Groningen.

ClubCall: Aston Villa's Leandro Bacuna has shown his support to injury victim Christian Benteke and expects him to respond to the setback. Benteke suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in April and missed the end of last season with Villa and the World Cup with Belgium as a result. Bacuna insists the 23-year-old will bounce back from his injury disappointment and expects the Belgium striker to play a key role for Villa when he is ready to return.
