A thank you from Acorns Children's Hospice
In March we celebrated the third annual Acorns Day - our charity match day at Villa Park - and we are absolutely delighted that we beat last season's fundraising total, raising a staggering £200,756, enough to run one of our hospices for a month.
Acorns Day has now raised over £500,000 since it began which is a demonstration of the brilliant support shown from everyone involved with Aston Villa.
As we look forward to the new season, we are delighted that we continue to have a presence on the youth replica kits, as well as the U18s team.
We are looking forward to the new 2014-15 season, and are thrilled that Aston Villa are continuing to work in partnership with Acorns across a wide range of fundraising initiatives and collaboration with Acorns families.
Established in 1988, Acorns Children's Hospice Trust is a registered charity offering a network of care for life limited and life threatened children and young people, and their families, across the heart of England.
These children and young people are not expected to reach adulthood and require specialist care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the last year Acorns has supported over 700 children and more than 1,050 families, including those who are bereaved. Acorn's relies on the public to fund the majority of its activities.
