Villa win big with two gongs at Stadium/Hospitality Awards
Villa came away with two top prizes at The Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards this year.
Over 300 guests from football and rugby clubs across the country celebrated their 'off the pitch' success at the prestigious event.
It was the 10th annual gala dinner and the event aims to recognise the efforts and dedication shown by the catering, conference and events teams at every football and rugby stadium across the UK.
It was held at the home of Hull City - the KC Stadium - and saw nine awards handed out.
Villa came out with bronze in the Media Choice category, a gong where the catering on offer for journalists is judged.
The winner was Man City while the silver went to Brighton and Hove Albion.
We also won a bronze award in the Conference & Events/ Sales & Marketing category - where a mystery telephone shopper gives feedback.
The winner was Hampden Park while the silver went to Newcastle United.
We have won an award in this category for the past four years - so it's a fantastic achievement from the team.
The overall winner was Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club, who scooped the top gong for Overall Matchday Hospitality Experience 2014, fighting off tough competition.
Alison Plant, head of sponsorship and hospitality, said: "We have taken part in these awards since their inception in 2002 and had success throughout the years.
"So we are delighted that again this year we made the top three in the country for Media Choice and Sales and Marketing for our non-match day business.
"It is a testament to the great staff and all their hard work that we have won these awards and I am very proud of them."
