Restaurant VMF wins prestigious excellence award yet again
Villa's Restaurant VMF has been handed yet another prestigious award.
The highly-respected eatery has earned a Trip Advisor 'Certificate of Excellence' for 2014.
Trip Advisor, the world's largest travel site, announced the winners today.
Now in its fourth year, the award celebrates hospitality excellence and is given only to establishments - eateries, accommodations and attractions - which consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on Trip Advisor.
Winners of the 'Certificate of Excellence' are located all over the world and represent the upper echelon of businesses listed on the website, with only the top 10% receiving the prestigious award.
The 'Certificate of Excellence' award is given to outstanding hospitality businesses that have received praise and recognition in reviews by Trip Advisor travellers.
Winners of the award range from one-room bed & breakfasts to 6000-room hotels, from bakeries to Michelin star restaurants and hidden attractions to world-renowned parks and museums.
Restaurant VMF, which also achieved the 'Certificate of Excellence' in 2013, has consistently achieved great reviews on Trip Advisor and is currently ranked as No.5 out of just under 1,500 eateries in Birmingham.
For long periods of this year and last year, it was ranked as No.1.
The key aspect to remember is that VMF is actually a training restaurant - a fact that sometimes escapes diners.
The aim is to give valuable experience and a quality work environment to young adults who haven't been given this opportunity before - and to use unique and traditional recipes that reflect flavours from the surrounding area.
The club is proud of its close association with young people from the region - and VMF provides a hospitality training programme for those who cook and serve in the unique project.
Villa use their own staff to be mentors - with a Level 2 NVQ diploma in hospitality services the recognised qualification at the end of a two year process.
Alison Plant, head of hospitality and events, said: "We're thrilled to be recognised once again.
"Restaurant VMF launched in 2010 with high hopes but these have been exceeded each year as we have improved and progressed with reputation, service and food.
"We're very happy as a club with the status and standing of Restaurant VMF - and the key is that our diners enjoy visiting us.
"We're very proud of the project behind it all, as young people get their valuable 'break' in life.
"The evidence we have seen in the four years we've been open is that these young people are undoubtedly taking it!
"They enjoy working with us - and we're very proud of them."
