Villa U18 1-3 West Brom U18: McKirdy strike not enough

Villa's depleted U18 side fought bravely against West Bromwich Albion but ended up on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline.

A catalogue of injuries have proved costly for Tony McAndrew's side since the turn of the year.

And once again they found themselves with only two recognised defenders for the clash at Bodymoor Heath.

The Baggies went ahead through Reece Wedderburn's curling free-kick.

Andre Wright netted with two fine efforts from outside the box for the Black Counry outfit.

Harry McKirdy's strike for Villa proved to be little more than a consolation.

VILLA: Watkins, O'Brien, Wildin, Hale, Zazrivec, Lyons-Foster, Lewis, McKirdy, T Strain, Abdo, Sellars. Subs: Taylor [for Sellars HT], Forth, Green [for Hale 30], Hepburn-Murphy [for Lewis HT], R Strain.
