Acorns Day 2014: Gareth Barry donates Everton shirt for charity

Gareth Barry may have left Villa in 2009 - but it's still close to his heart.

That's been particularly proved this week as the former skipper has done his bit for the club's charity partner.

Barry, who played in claret and blue for 11 years, has donated an Everton shirt to Villa for the Acorns Day 2014 auction.

The club are celebrating 'Acorns Day' at the Stoke City game on Sunday March 23.

As part of the celebrations, an online auction is taking place with a host of superb items going under the hammer.

Bidding is now under way on Barry's shirt, a claret and blue football from the 1990s signed by the squad of the time, an Alan Shearer England top from Euro 96, a signed Man City top and a signed West Brom shirt.

The auction for these items closes on Sunday March 16 at 8pm.

But that's not all.

We have a plethora of other items going up for auction on successive Sundays.

You can start placing your bids now for these great items.
