Villa 4-1 Norwich: Bubbly Bacuna hailed for top display
More specifically, his ability to charge from one end of the pitch to the other to finish off a flowing move he himself started.
Christian Benteke took the plaudits for his exemplary first goal but Lambert was also highly impressed by the quality of that third goal - a brilliant team effort.
He also hailed the progress made by Bacuna - the scorer of that goal - in the short time he has been with the claret and blues.
Bacuna joined Villa in June 2013 and has started really well, excelling in midfield and full-back as well as scoring five goals for the club.
Villa boss Lambert is thrilled to have the versatile starlet at Villa and expects him to keep improving in the days, weeks and months ahead.
He said: "Leo has done great for us.
"People forget he's only just got here. He's only just starting out in the Barclays Premier League.
"He learning and getting on with it.
"I thought the third goal he scored was absolutely fantastic. Leo starts that move in his own 18 yard box.
"Leo runs the full length of the pitch and he's still got the energy to score.
"In terms of the move itself, Gabby does great to turn the lad in the middle of the park and then slips the ball into Andi. He then tees it up for Leo.
"It was excellent. That was a brilliant team goal."
