Positive Weimann on why he's bursting with belief again

Andi Weimann says he's eager to extend his scoring run - after firing two in the last three games.

Weimann found vital finishes against Liverpool and West Brom.

That halted a four month barren spell.

Weimann admits he feels like a weight has been lifted from his shoulders.

Now he's eager to push on in the scoring stakes.

He said: "It's been a long wait but I have scored two goals in three games now so I feel great.

"It's given me a boost now. I am positive heading into the rest of the season.

"They were two important goals too, which is the big thing.

"To score against a team vying for the title is good and to score in the derby too is fantastic.

"I want to keep going. I feel I can.

"It's like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders when you score goals as a forward.

"I always felt I was contributing but just not scoring. But, of course, as a forward you're desperate to score. That's what you live for.

"Your confidence is bound to dip a bit if you go for a spell without a goal.

"But once you do hit the net, you get a burst of belief.

"I now feel I can go and score more between now and the end of the season.

"I was pleased with both goals. They were good finishes but, more important, they were vital for the team.

"Gabby did brilliant down the left for my one at Anfield. I saw the chance and just gambled. It paid off! I just tapped it in.

"I gambled again against West Brom. I saw the keeper off the line and instinctively lifted it over him. That was my only thought really. Luckily it went in under the bar.

"The timing was vital for that too. To score that soon after their second gave us some momentum. The longer is stayed 2-0 the harder it would have been. It was very important."
