Villa v West Ham: Enjoy Chinese New Year hospitality
Villa are getting in the spirit of things for the West Ham fixture as the Far East ushers in 2014.
Villa are already the 12th most popular club in the Far East when it comes to social media site, with our Sina Weibo site attracting over 100,000 followers, that's more than Valencia, Napoli and Wolfsburg.
And now we are hosting a number of Chinese-themed activities on the day of the Hammer clash, including a chop stick challenge at the funday on the eve of the big match.
And you can get involved with a hospitality package at the game itself.
Enjoy a specially-created Chinese-themed menu with Tsingtao Chinese lager - and then enjoy all the action from executive seating in the Trinity Road Stand.
The hospitality package also includes a half-time drink in the 82 Lounge and a copy of the award-winning match programme.
The game takes place on Saturday February 8, with a 3pm kick-off.
Chinese New Year begins on February 2 and last for one week.
Chinese New Year is celebrated in countries and territories with significant Chinese populations, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius and Philippines.
Traditionally, families gather to share the blessings of the past year and attract good fortune in the coming one.
Chinese households set off fireworks on the eve of the New Year in order to drive away evil spirits.
Each year is associated with one of twelve animals in the Chinese zodiac.
For 2014, it's the year of the horse.
The twelve animals in the Chinese zodiac are the rat, the ox, the tiger, the rabbit, the dragon, the snake, the horse, the ram, the monkey, the rooster, the dog and the pig.
Exact origins of the Chinese zodiac are unknown, but common folklore has it that these are the twelve animals to reach heaven in a race.
The cost is £100 [plus VAT] per person.
