Determined Lambert: No time to feel sorry for ourselves
Paul Lambert says there's "no time to feel sorry for ourselves" as Villa get set for the Boxing Day clash with Crystal Palace.
Lambert was frustrated to see his team go down 2-1 to Stoke in a tight game at the Britannia Stadium.
He felt his side weren't at the races against Fulham and Man Utd but said he saw positives in the Potteries.
The loss to Stoke makes it three defeats on the bounce for Villa but he said there was no time for moping with a busy festive schedule coming up.
Villa face Crystal Palace on December 26, Swansea on December 28 and Sunderland on January 1.
Lambert said: "We go again. We have nine points to play for in a week. The games come thick and fast.
"But I feel if we do that more times than not, we will win games.
"We will pick up points, no doubt about it.
"The previous two - Fulham and Manchester United - weren't us. That looked more like us against Stoke.
"It is disappointing to lose but there's a way to lose.
"The last two games prior to this one weren't good enough. But I don't think we deserved to lose the game at Stoke.
"We gave a right good account of ourselves and we never deserved to lose in strong conditions.
"You take things out of it and think 'alright, we lost a game but there are a lot of positives there'.
"You don't feel sorry for yourselves now. You pick yourself up.
"You have to let it go. You have to go to the next game and try to win.
"You have to try and put a stop to it as quick as you can.
"You look at that mid-table region. There is absolutely nothing in it. One win catapults you up."
