Focused Weimann: We're determined to bounce back
Andreas Weimann is eager to give the claret and blue faithful some festive cheer as they face a double-header of home games against Crystal Palace and Swansea.
Villa take on the Eagles on December 26 and the Swans two days later on December 28.
These matches come on the back of three defeats in succession, to Fulham, Man Utd and Stoke.
Weimann says the players are determined and unwavering in their desire to start picking up wins again, hopefully starting over the Christmas programme.
He said: "The good thing is we have two games coming up now in quick succession.
"We have home games on Thursday and Saturday. We want to put it right. That's what we are determined to do.
"We need to start winning games again.
"We played well against Stoke but didn't get anything from it. We want to start picking up maximum points and hopefully that can start on Thursday.
"We are determined to bounce back. It's great to have games coming up straight away to put things right."
Of course, Weimann faces his old pal Barry Bannan on Boxing Day.
Midfielder Bannan came up through the claret and blue academy with Weimann before making the switch to Selhurst Park in the summer transfer window.
Weimann admits the pair are still close - but he says that will count for nothing on Thursday.
He added: "Baz is a good friend of mine but obviously on Thursday we want the three points.
"You talk before the game. You talk after the game. But on the pitch, he's the opponent.
"We just want to win the game."
