Agbonlahor: Battling Kozak can be a major asset for Villa

Gabby Agbonlahor believes workhorse Libor Kozak will be flying after breaking his Villa Park duck.

Agbonlahor feels the Czech Republic striker's first home goal for the club against Cardiff last weekend was a deserved reward for his battling display.

And Villa's longest-serving player has backed the club's newest recruit to be a big asset once he has fully settled in to Barclays Premier League life.

"It was good for Libor," said Agbonlahor.

"He battles on during games and he got his reward for working hard.

"He is quiet and keeps himself to himself but he enjoys his football.

"He tries his hardest and that's what the manager wants - people who are going to give 100 per cent.

"He is still learning and is still young. I can tell he is excited to learn and play for the club and he gives 100 per cent.

"It is good for the manager as well to have different options he can play.

"He's had a big injury list and the people he has brought in to the team have performed.

"It is good for them and good for the squad."

Agbonlahor says the former Lazio striker has adapted well to the demands of English football, describing him as "a handful" for defenders.

"It must have been difficult coming in knowing he has to compete with Christian - one of the best strikers in the world," added Agbonlahor.

"He has come in, scored and has been a handful. People need to know you can expect too much of him.

"It's a new set up, new football, and it take a while to get used to it."
