Vacancy at Villa: Host families required for young Academy players
Due to major developments in the Academy structure we need to specifically recruit host families to cater for 14 to 16-year-olds.
This younger group will be subject to the same assessment process as the over 16-year-olds but will also include involvement with the Local Authority as these placements will be deemed Private Fostering Placements.
Host family accommodation must provide two separate bedrooms (as we place our scholars in pairs); give easy access to both public transport and Sutton Coldfield town centre and be situated in the following Birmingham postcode areas - B72, B73, B74, B75 or B76.
Our accommodation needs can vary and may be short or long term.
A monthly fee is payable to the host family for the duration of the placement and the club would require you to attend support and guidance sessions throughout the year.
All applicants would be required to undergo a full assessment with the club's Head of Education and our Safeguarding Services Manager before consideration can be made as to suitability.
In addition to the club's internal assessment process, host family applicants for players aged 14 to 16 will also need to be assessed by the Local Authority and applicants are advised that this will require additional levels of commitment to meet the standards required for private fostering.
Our club is committed to equal opportunities as well as safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk.
Any applicant wishing to be considered as a host family will need to demonstrate they are able to share this commitment.
If you would like to apply to provide a caring 'home from home' then please be aware that this position is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Services Check at enhanced level with a check made against the Children's Barred list .
If you live in one of these postcode areas and are interested in applying then please email firstname.lastname@example.org for an applicant information pack.
