Express and Star: Fabian Delph today admitted it would be a "dream" to gatecrash England's World Cup squad. The Villa midfielder has been tipped to earn a first senior call-up after impressive performances this term.

Sky Sports: Fabian Delph has stressed that playing well for Aston Villa is his priority, rather than focusing on an England call-up. The former Leeds midfielder has enjoyed a very good start to the new season and a number of people have tipped him for berth in Roy Hodgson's England squad ahead of next summer's World Cup.

ESPN: Aston Villa skipper Ron Vlaar has said it is only a matter of time until a new-found resilience is followed by a return to the attacking sharpness of earlier in the season. Villa have kept clean sheets in their last three away games but have not scored in any of their last four fixtures -- but Vlaar is convinced the tide will turn for forwards Christian Benteke, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann.

ClubCall: Ashley Westwood has backed star striker Christian Benteke to end his mini goal-drought for Aston Villa very soon. Benteke has failed to hit the target in his past three games since returning from injury but he remains Villa's biggest goal threat and must soon surely add to his total of five in all competitions so far this season.

Best Of The Rest

BBC Sport: Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas says he is astonished by the reaction to goalkeeper Hugo Lloris playing on after being knocked unconscious.

BBC Sport: John Hartson is standing down as assistant manager of Wales.

Sky Sports: Martin O'Neill admits he jumped at the chance of becoming the new manager of the Republic of Ireland.
