West Ham v Villa: Gaffer backs Weimann to hit goal trail
Weimann has found the net just once in the Barclays Premier League this term, although there has been no let-up in his exceptional work rate.
Lambert insists the Austrian striker's reliabilityand tireless energy are crucial to Villa.
And the manager is sure Weimann will be back among the goals before long.
The 22-year-old's last top-flight strike came in the victory over Manchester City in September, while he also netted against Rotherham in the Capital One Cup earlier in the campaign.
"I think any goalscorer would always want to score and he is no different from anybody else," said Lambert.
"It will come - I've got no worries whatsoever. But his work rate is important to us and his enthusiasm. I'm pretty sure his goals will come.
"Andi is one of the ones that has never wavered for me with his fitness levels.
"He is a really fit lad and thankfully he has never been injured since I've been here. His fitness levels are never a problem.
"The thing with Andi is the way he plays and trains is the same.
"He always has that enthusiasm for it. He plays in training like he does in a match."
