Villa v Tottenham: Boss Lambert discusses his tunnel vision
Paul Lambert wants the Villa Park tunnel to be inspirational for his stars - after playing a key role in its glorious revamp.
The tunnel received a stylish facelift to add to the stadium's grandeur and reflect the club's impressive history.
Large overhead beams have been spruced up to display different sections of Villa's honours list, while the words 'This is Villa Park' are now emblazoned above the double doors leading out to the pitch.
Two large Villa lions are also on display either side of the doors, while the tunnel now has new claret and blue carpet replacing the old green flooring.
Lambert - who fully endorsed the enhancements - said it is important for players and staff to be reminded of the club's rich history.
"The tunnel area is a big area," said the manager.
"It has been done up now and it is fantastic. You see some of the history that there is at this club, what's happened in the past. You can't take that away from a club."
Chief Executive Paul Faulkner added: "Paul Lambert is a man of high football standards.
"During the summer, he identified the tunnel as an area in need of enhancement. He wants it to be something special.
We're confident it will really be a striking addition to the matchday experience for players and staff alike."
