FT - Villa 3-2 Man City - Our official full report to follow
Yaya Toure's goal on the stroke of half time came as a big blow to Villa.
Until that point, Paul Lambert's team had contained high-flying Man City in an opening period that saw very little goalmouth activity.
Brad Guzan made a routine save early on to deny Edin Dzeko at the near post after the forward was played in by former Villan James Milner.
Toure and Samir Nasri both had long-range efforts deflected wide for the visitors, who dominated possession without overly stretching the claret and blues.
The closest Villa came to scoring was a 25-yard free-kick from Karim El Ahmadi which went just over the bar.
However, Toure struck in the final minute of the first-half, converting a Nasri corner to give City the edge.
Villa's match console is the ultimate place to be to follow the game with Man City.
Paul Lambert will be eager to make it two wins in two top-flight matches after his side's victory at Norwich.
But he knows it will be a tough contest against Barclays Premier League powerhouses City.
