Frustrated Delph: I'm Mr Miserable at the moment!
Fabian Delph says he's Mr Miserable at the moment as he itches to get back playing for Villa.
Paul Lambert's young and emerging team - of which Delph is an integral member - are on a two-week hiatus at present.
Delph accepts that it's good to rest-up after four tough clashes against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Rotherham in just over a week.
But he says that, after missing so much football through injury, he doesn't like breaks from action.
That's especially true when you consider he was voted player of the month for August and he also scored his first goal in a year against Rotherham.
He said: "We haven't got a game for a long time now so a few of the boys will be falling out with the missus I'm sure.
"But we'll be anxious and raring to go again when the games come.
"I personally struggle when there's no football. I'm not the happiest man when I'm not playing.
"Obviously with the injuries I've had I've missed quite a lot of football over the years. I want to be playing week in week out.
"But I'll welcome the rest and hopefully come back raring to go when we come back to play Newcastle.
"There's something to build on. There's a whole different feel about it this year from last year.
"Everybody's raring to go, everybody's willing to help each other out, everybody gets on.
"It's become more of a family orientated club, there's a massive togetherness so bring on Newcastle.
"We're happy to be through to the next round of the cup too and I think the result against Rotherham tops off a reasonably good two weeks of games that we've played.
"We've played some tough games and it's obviously nice to finish on a win. We won't play for another few weeks now but we'll be raring to go again when Newcastle arrive at Villa Park."
