Weimann: Rotherham bullet better than Stoke stunner
Andreas Weimann says his superb strike against Rotherham was better than his goal of the season effort against Stoke two terms ago.
Weimann curled home a wonderful effort in the 1-1 draw with the Potters from 2011-12.
But the Austrian ace insists his latest effort tops that beauty.
He said: "It's nice to get my first goal of the season.
"The main thing was getting to the next round. We've done that so everyone's happy.
"People talk about my Stoke goal. But I think this was probably a bit better than that one.
"I hit it quite nice. It went in the top corner so I'm pretty happy with it.
"To be fair as soon as I hit it I knew it was in.
"I think there were two guys in at the back stick so I tried to play them in but it came back so I thought why not and luckily it went in."
Weimann also hailed the way the claret and blues dealt with the enthusiasm of League One Rotherham, who came to B6 for an upset.
He continued: "We knew it was their cup final playing away at a Premier League ground so we knew they were going to be up for it.
"Obviously we were up against it to start with but we got the goal which helped us a lot."
Now it's Tottenham in the third round of the competition.
Weimann insists the players are relishing the tough tie.
He added: "We heard about the draw in the changing round.
"It's at home so we're going to go for it again and we'll see what happens.
"We'll play in front of our home crowd and we'll try to get to the next round."
