Norwich v Villa: Lambert to assess Clark and El Ahmadi fitness
Paul Lambert will assess the fitness of Ciaran Clark and Karim El Ahmadi ahead of Saturday's clash against Norwich.
The duo were ruled out of the 6-1 victory over Sunderland on Monday with foot and groin injuries respectively.
Lambert admitted it was "too risky" to select them for the Black Cats encounter but he will wait and see if they recover in time for the trip to Carrow Road.
"Ciaran hurt his foot in training the other day," said the Villa boss.
"Karim got a groin strain the other day, too. It was too risky to play them.
"We will see how they are later in the week."
Although Villa are on a high after Monday night's win, Lambert admits it is time for his players to move on and focus on the Canaries.
The manager is pleased with the way his young squad have handled the pressure of the Barclays Premier League survival battle.
"As far as I am concerned the Sunderland game's gone," added Lambert.
"You move on to the next one. You can't live on that. You have to let that go and go on to the next one.
"That's what I will try to do. Now we will go and try and win a game at Norwich.
"The situation is better than it was a few months ago because of the way we have been playing.
"We have been in this position for most of the season and the team have handled it brilliantly.
"They haven't let their heads go down, they have kept on going and the way they are playing they don't look like a team that are down there."
