Lambert: I will watch "mad Soccer Saturday" this weekend
Paul Lambert stressed that he won't get overly concerned by this weekend's results before his team play on Monday - but he joked he may tune into "mad Soccer Saturday" on Sky Sports.
Lambert was keen to reiterate that he can't affect the outcome of games on Saturday and Sunday so there was little point stressing over them.
Villa boss Lambert insisted he will only concentrate on his team's matches coming up - Sunderland, Norwich, Chelsea and Wigan.
He said: "We have training this weekend. You keep yourself busy.
"You flick the TV on and see how it goes. You can't influence anything though so I don't get caught up in it and get glued to the TV.
"I will have it on. I will watch that mad Soccer Saturday thing.
"People have hysteria fits because they think someone has scored and it's a corner.
"I will listen to Charlie Nicholas and the other lads.
"I will see the scores coming in. But you can't get caught up in anything.
"You have to look after your own. That's all you can do. That's important for myself - to keep focused on what we do. We can't influence what anyone else does. We can only influence our own game.
"If you do that, you see what happens. But you can't see about other results going your way without taking care of your own.
"You'll see results and how they go but if you don't care of your job? That's first and foremost. That's the priority.
"I don't want to rely on other people. I want it in our own hands and if we do that then we'll see."
