Thursday media watch [18.04.13 PM]: Benteke not feeling pressure

Express & Star: Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke today batted away the Premier League survival pressure and claimed he'd turn to ping-pong if he couldn't cope. The 19-goal top scorer has welcomed the relegation heat and believes Villa's rookies can handle in the run-in. They go to Manchester United on Monday ahead of crunch clashes against relegation rivals Sunderland and Norwich.

Goal.com: Christian Benteke has insisted he owes Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert a debt of gratitude for giving him the chance to succeed in the Premier League. The Belgium forward has been a revelation since joining from Genk for £7 million in the summer - netting 19 goals in all competitions - and has since been linked with moves to a number of big-name clubs. But, the 22-year-old has hinted he is happy to stay at Villa Park, where he is wanted by the manager and the fans after a remarkable debut season in England.

ESPN: Christian Benteke insists he will not crumble under the pressure of being Aston Villa's main hope of avoiding relegation to the Championship. Without the £7 million Belgian striker's 19 goals this season, it is likely that Villa would already be planning for life outside the Premier League rather than sitting three points above the relegation zone. Benteke's first season in England since his move from Racing Genk has seen his form spark reported interest from Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City, but the striker said he was revelling in the responsibility of keeping Villa up.

Clubcall: Christian Benteke insists the pressure of Aston Villa's battle to retain their Barclays Premier League status holds no fear for him. After Wigan's 1-0 defeat at Manchester City on Wednesday night, Villa remain 17th in the table with five matches left to play, three points clear of the Latics, who now have one game in hand over them.

Sports Mole: Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has insisted that he does not fear the pressure of playing in important games for his club. Villa are fighting to avoid relegation at the bottom of the Premier League table, but Benteke has revealed that he is confident of helping his side to safety.

Best of the Rest

BBC Sport: Chelsea captain John Terry says he accepts the squad rotation policy used by interim manager Rafael Benitez. Terry has started only three league matches in 2013 and was omitted from the FA Cup semi-final defeat by Manchester City, although he scored twice after returning to the side that beat Fulham on Wednesday.

Sky Sports: Atletico Madrid ace Radamel Falcao has moved to play down talk linking him with a possible move to Manchester United. Reports emanating from Spain last week claimed United were in pole position to land the in-demand striker this summer as they look to win the race for the Colombia international.

BBC Sport: Stoke manager Tony Pulis has issued a "call to arms to everybody in Stoke" in a bid to help the team retain their Premier League status. One victory in the last fourteen games has seen the Potters slide down the league, leaving them three points above the relegation zone with five games left.
