Stoke 1-3 Villa podcast: Relive raucous audio commentary

Jack Woodward doesn't like silence. He always feels the need to fill it with words.

Sometimes this approach can be difficult especially as a football commentator.

Games can be dull, tame affairs and it can be tough to make them sound interesting and engaging.

But the Stoke against Villa game was no such contest - and Woodward was certainly in his element alongside Ken McNaught in the press box at the Britannia Stadium.

The experienced audio ace explained Gabby Agbonlahor's opener in expert fashion, discussing the link-up play between Jordan Bowery and Matt Lowton and the fab finish by the powerful forward.

But the 35-year-old really came into his element with the wonder strike from Matt Lowton as Villa searched for a winner following Michael Kightly's equaliser.

You can feel the frustration and disappointment in Woodward's voice as he describes the action following the leveller - but then Lowton does his thing and all hell breaks loose.

Listen to Woodward go crazy at the 30-yarder, describing it succinctly as a "curler, swirler and a pearler."

Alongside European Cup legend McNaught, Woodward also brings you passion for the final third, Christian Benteke bursting forward before slotting home beautifully past Asmir Begovic.
