Paul Lambert and Matt Lowton faced the AVTV cameras after Villa's superb 3-1 victory at Stoke.

The boys in claret and blue recorded their first-ever win at the Britannia Stadium thanks to goals from Gabby Agbonlahor, Lowton and Christian Benteke.

Lowton was unquestionably the name on everyone's lips after scoring with a stunning 30-yard volley when the game was level at 1-1.

Lambert gave an in-depth assessment of his team's performance, insisting Villa dominated from start to finish.

The Villa boss hailed Lowton's wonder strike, claiming: "You won't see a better goal in Europe, let alone in Britain".

Lowton also faced the cameras following his blockbuster volley which put Villa back in front.

The full-back described what was going through his mind when he connected with the crucial shot.

But he was keen to stress the importance of the result rather than reflect on his own personal glory.

The ex-Sheffield United ace praised his defensive colleagues for standing up to Stoke's physical threat.

You can also watch the verdict of European Cup winner and AVTV summariser Ken McNaught.

The former Villa defender was particularly impressed with the all-round performance of Lowton.
