International preview: Clark and Weimann could square off

Ciaran Clark could come up against Andi Weimann in World Cup 2014 qualifying.

Clark's Republic of Ireland take on Weimann's Austria in Dublin next Tuesday in Group C, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Clark and Weimann are two of seven players away with their countries over the next two weeks.

Clark faces an earlier clash with Sweden in Stockholm while Weimann will travel to Vienna for a match with Faroe Islands, both on Friday.

Republic of Ireland are third in Europe Group C with six points from three games while Austria are fourth with four points from three games. Germany are top with ten points from four games.

Christian Benteke is with Belgium for their double-header against Macedonia.

They take them on in Skopje on Friday and in Brussels on Tuesday.

Barry Bannan and loanee Alan Hutton is with Scotland for their clash with Wales in Glasgow on Friday while they face Serbia in Novi Sad on Tuesday.

Belgium are top of Europe Group A, alongside Croatia, with ten points from four games. Scotland are bottom of Group A with two points from four games.

Ron Vlaar is with Holland for their clash with Estonia in Amsterdam on Friday and Romania in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

Holland are top of Europe Group D with twelve points from four games.

In the Europe section of World Cup qualifying, the top team in each group progresses to the finals.

The second placed side from each group will contest round two of qualifying.

The teams will be paired into four home-and-away ties.

The matches will likely be played between November 15 and 19, 2013 and the winners also make it through to Brazil.

Brad Guzan is with USA as they face Costa Rica in Colorado on Friday and Mexico in Mexico City on Tuesday.

USA are bottom of North, Central America and Caribbean Group with no points from one game.

USA are currently competing in the region's traditional 'hexagonal' stage.

Six teams meet in a home-and-away format between February 6 and October 15, 2013 with the top three sides qualifying directly for the tournament in Brazil.

Brett Holman is with Australia for their clash with Oman in Sydney on Tuesday.

Australia are second in Asia Group B with five points from four games. Japan are top with thirteen points from five games.

This is classed as round four of the Asia section. The top team from both groups in this section progresses through to the finals.

The two second-place teams from the two groups will contest round five. The teams will play one home-and-away play-off.

The matches will likely be played between September 6 and 10, 2013.

The winner advances to the intercontinental play-off. The intercontinental play-offs will be played between the round winner of Asia and the fifth-placed team of South America.

These matches are expected to be played on November 15 and 19, 2013.

The winner makes it through to Brazil.
