His young side's lack of experience has been called into question but this was a resilient, spirited performance epitomised by Andreas Weimann. Weimann took his tally to eleven league and cup goals in Saturday's 3-2 victory over QPR and also set up the winner for strike partner Christian Benteke.

Villa have endured a rollercoaster season in and around the dropzone. But they have now finally secured back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since May 2011. Just as in the win at Reading, Villa showed true grit to recover from falling behind after another defensive mistake. Keeper Guzan, again outstanding, reckons Villa's fight, commitment and skill should finally silence the doubting supporters.

Daily Star: Villa's Brad Guzan pulled off a couple of world-class saves in the first half - both from Christopher Samba and within a minute of each other - which almost certainly stopped Paul Lambert's nervous team from crumbling.
