Villa v QPR: Lambert - Players have made huge strides this term
Paul Lambert insists his Villa side have made big strides since the start of the season - and he wants to see that upward curve continue against QPR this afternoon.
Lambert believes the improvement in his team's performances has at times been overlooked.
But the Villa boss is confident he has the makings of a talented side, as long as the players continue to "grow together".
Asked if there has been an improvement, Lambert replied: "I think there has big time.
"Even from the turn of the year the improvement has been massive.
"It's growing together which is what everyone wants to do.
"People have probably overlooked that the improvement has been very, very good.
"The players are growing together and look good and that's what we are trying to do.
"We have everything to be a right good side."
Lambert says the squad have taken plenty of encouragement from the vital victory at Reading.
The Scotsman has reiterated several times that his team can be a potent attacking force.
Now he is keen to see them start pulling together complete performances to see the club over the threshold to Barclays Premier League safety.
"They are encouraged by that," the manager added.
"The important thing is there's goals in us and we're a threat. So when we're attacking we carry a real threat.
"Gabby, Andi, Charles, Christian - they're all playing well so we have got a real threat in there.
"If we can just pull it all together with the lads in midfield and defensively, then we'll certainly cause problems."
