Quiet please! Benteke brings school library to order

Powerful forward Benteke was joined by skipper Ron Vlaar and midfielder Stephen Ireland at the grand opening of the plush reading facility. Check out the picture gallery from the event. Check out the video footage from the event. Vlaar, flanked by Benteke and Ireland, cut the ribbon to officially open the valuable education resource - and then the trio sat down with the kids to read some passages from Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien. Tolkien, of course, hailed from this area and was a fan of Villa. It is also the chosen book of "Reading Stars" ambassador Ireland. Premier League Reading Stars is a partnership between the Premier League and the National Literacy Trust. It is aimed at boys and girls, from years five and six (ages nine to eleven), who are motivated by football but not by literacy. After a spell nosing through the classic book, chronicling the story of Gandalf, Aragorn, Sauron and Frodo Baggins, the talented trio then spoke to the children about the importance of reading - to learn, to relax and for fun. Each player then visited several classes in the school to say hello to other kids before spending time signing autographs. Check out the picture gallery from the event.
