Gabby Agbonlahor is a winner on the pitch - and he also knows a winner when he sees one.

That's why we asked him to select the winning entry in our competition to design the cover of Saturday's special edition Villa News & Record for Acorns Day.

It was a tough choice, to be fair, with around 200 entries received from young fans hoping to see their drawing on the front cover of the programme.

Gabby eventually opted for an entry submitted by 10-year-old Archie Hall from Wilmslow in Cheshire.

Archie's excellent drawing shows a huge acorn, incorporating the Villa and QPR crests and images of Christian Benteke and QPR defender Chris Samba.

"It's good for young fans to have a chance of having their picture on the programme cover," said Gabby.

"There were some really good ones and it was tough to pick the winner. It's good to see the kids getting involved.

"Archie's picture is fantastic - I couldn't have done it better myself! Archie has done really well. Full credit to him for an amazing picture."

Apart from featuring Archie's drawing Saturday's programme will also include four pages dedicated to some of the other entries - plus an exclusive interview with Gabby.

And every extra £1 from the higher-than-usual cover price of £4 will be donated to Acorns.

Be sure not to miss it.
