Guzan: We have to keep this momentum going in final run-in
Brad Guzan spoke of the character in camp as Villa saw off Reading 2-1.
Guzan was thrilled to be part of the team which came from behind to beat the Royals in a crunch clash.
Villa's new No.1 said the fightback showed categorically the spirit in the squad as they look to surge up the Barclays Premier League table.
He now wants the team to continue the momentum in the final nine games.
He said: "To come back from a goal down on the road at a place like Reading in a massive game shows what we're all about.
"It shows our character, our belief, our fight and spirit.
"On top of that I thought we played some good football.
"You put all those things together and I can only say that good things are going to come our way.
"It didn't look like that after the own-goal but our boys continued to fight and play football and we got our rewards.
"It's now about keeping that momentum going to fight on."
Guzan also laughed off suggestions that Villa's perilous plight is down to the youthful nature of the squad assembled by Paul Lambert.
The superb stopper dismissed this notion strongly after the game in Berkshire.
He added: "I'm not buying that. We see the quality we have in the changing room. We see it on the training ground.
"You look at teams at the top as well, they give up leads, they drop points, that's football. That's what this league is all about.
"It's not about age, or inexperience, or a young look about our team.
"It's about staying together, sticking together and fighting for each other and getting results.
"There have been a few games this season where we've conceded late and haven't taken all three points."
