Villa fan Butler: Bieber will be introduced to Benteke soon enough
Justin Bieber's best friend Ryan Butler is officially a claret and blue fan.
Bieber and Butler are inseparable as they fly around the world and the pair have just left Birmingham after the most recognised musician on the planet completed the regional leg of his mammoth 'Believe' tour.
AVFC.co.uk caught up with Butler as he chatted about how he was transfixed by Villa via his Bloxwich-born dad Martin [pictured with a young Ryan at Villa Park] - and how Gabby Agbonlahor and Christian Benteke are his favourite players.
He said: "I watch games in the morning with my dad on the television.
"I see the passion he holds for the club. It's been with him all his life. I thought it would be right to join one of the oldest clubs in history.
"Most Saturdays we watch the game in the basement at home. My dad always wears his shirt during the game. I'll be joining him soon because I'm getting the new top in the next few weeks. Can't wait!
"The coverage is awesome over here. We get all the games and all the pre/post game analysis. It's tremendous!
"I like the youth in the team at the moment. It gives me great optimism for the future. There is great talent on this team. I like the colours too and the stadium is fantastic. I've visited it a couple of times when I've been over in the UK.
"In terms of players, I love good ole Gabby Agbonlahor. I've been a fan of his for a number of years. I liked to watch Ashley Young handle the ball down the touchline back in the day when he played for the Villa too.
"Our best player right now would have to be Christian Benteke. No two ways about it. He is a solid striker who is delivering goals for the Villa and giving us a really good chance of staying up.
"I'm confident about the present and the future. From what I've seen this season, there have been some close calls. There have been a lot of one-goal games that could have been won by the Villa.
"I feel that Villa will stay in the Premier League this season by a hair. But next season we will be a lot stronger with the youthful side."
Butler was thrilled to be back in Brum for the 'Believe' tour and even bigged-up Villa on his Twitter page - which boasts 1.6m followers - telling fans he'd be wearing his claret and blue classic top from 1996.
He continued: "Having family from Birmingham, it makes it more special to come back to the area.
"The passion is shown in the streets and throughout the community. The last time I was in Birmingham was when I was 13-years-old. A lot has changed since then, but it's still the same old Birmingham.
"I spotted one or two Villa shirts in the crowd at the LG. It was great to see."
Megastar Bieber - famous for hits 'Baby' and 'Beauty and a Beat' and the most followed person on Twitter with over 36m fans - was a keen footballer as a kid, playing alongside Butler.
He rarely gets time off now because of recording and touring - but Butler plans to blitz him with claret and blue coverage in the coming years.
He added: "As everyone knows, Justin has a busy schedule and doesn't get to watch much television.
"We grew up together playing soccer on the same team. We both enjoy the sport very much.
"I haven't had much time to talk about Villa with him. But I'm sure it will come up in the future.
"He knows players like Lionel Messi and other world renowned players. But he will be introduced to Benteke and Agbonlahor soon enough."
