Villa v Man City: Agbonlahor - We must keep it in our own hands
Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Villa to keep their Barclays Premier League fate in their own hands - after underlining his determination to fire the club out of the bottom three.
Villa face a crucial few weeks in the battle for top-flight safety with tomorrow night's game against Manchester City before fixtures against Reading and QPR.
Agbonlahor admits it was disappointing to see the team slide into the bottom three with a defeat at Arsenal last weekend.
But he insists there is a determination in the camp to change things very quickly.
"It's determination to get out of there as soon as possible," said Agbonlahor.
"Before the Arsenal game we were out of the bottom three but now we have dropped back in there.
"As I said it would be different if you were nine or ten points out of it, this is only on goal difference, so you see if you get a point and the others don't, you move up.
"A couple of wins you can move a few places. It is not desperation, it is more determination.
"We are not used to this sort of thing, but if you can keep it in your own hands that is what you want.
"We can look at the next games with teams around us and if we can get results we will shoot up a few places."
