On the same day that Villa's first team also travelled to Arsenal, the youngsters provided the perfect build-up to the main event with a comprehensive victory in north London. Tony McAndrew's team - who earned 5-2 wins against Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City in their two previous outings - took the lead through Jerell Sellars. The former Lincoln City wideman was on target for a second time, while Daniel Crowley scored twice and Ricardo Calder found the net as the claret and blues surged into a 5-0 half-time lead. Villa were 6-0 up just after the break courtesy of an own goal. The Gunners pulled one back in stoppage time through Zach Fagan.
